So, gist has it that our dear actress and podcaster, Biola Adebayo, thought it wise to grant Baba Ijesha an interview on her 'Talk To B' show after his release from prison. Now, for those who forgot, Baba Ijesha was convicted in July 2022 for sexual assault and indecent treatment of a child. Five years, three years, concurrently. Not acquitted o, the Ministry of Justice even clarified he’s still on the Lagos Sexual Offenders Register. Let's not forget that.
And what did Baba Ijesha do in the interview? He claimed he was set up, denied everything, and even dragged Iyabo Ojo's name into it, talking about how he once took care of her kids! Egbami! She said her platform is for 'the good and the bad, for both saints and sinners' and that she's a mother, a Christian, and a survivor, so she'd never support a rapist. Hmmm. While it's good to hear apologies, sometimes, some platforms are just not for 'both saints and sinners' when it involves child abuse. Full stop.

Instead of constantly feeding into controversies that divide us or highlight our flaws, why can't we channel this energy into celebrating what unites us?
