Look around you! In Kenya, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission boss is out here calling corruption a 'snake under the bed' that's silently strangling our progress! We're seeing our corruption rankings tumble, and political interference is blocking justice like a bad referee decision. And those massive floods, the constant power cuts? Are they just natural disasters, or symptoms of years of ignored warnings and compromised infrastructure?
Over in Nigeria, the political class is literally 'engaging failures' like it's a national sport! We're hearing about 'political witch-hunts' against opposition figures under the guise of anti-corruption efforts, and high-profile corruption cases are dragging on and on, making us wonder if true justice will ever be served. Meanwhile, our people are dealing with security alerts, rising fuel prices, and constant threats of flooding in places like Lagos. Where is the commitment to the masses?
And Egypt? Despite having laws against corruption like bribery and embezzlement, they're poorly enforced. The country scored a dismal 30 out of 100 on the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, and we saw a major corruption case last year involving 16 government officials in illegal construction activities! Now, with economic austerity measures and regional tensions affecting tourism, you have to ask: who truly pays the price for this systemic rot?
We cheer for our teams, we demand top performance, we dissect every single play, every goal, every VAR decision. We want transparency, fair play, and consequences for bad behaviour on the pitch. So why, why do we accept anything less from the people who are supposed to be leading our countries?
