Abeg, make una come see this one o! Punch news dey carry am say America don sanction Sudan again, tori say Sudan government dey use chemical weapons for their war. Na so so wahala this Sudan matter be since. But my own be say, na only me dey smell fish for this whole thing?
First of all, chemical weapons? Chai! If na true, then that one na pure wickedness. No human being deserve that kind of treatment, especially innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. But then, when America dey sanction, my antenna dey always stand gidigba. Na everything dem dey see? And na now dem just dey see am? Or na when dem wan push another agenda, na then dem go remember all these things?
E be like say una don forget say America get history of 'finding' things when it suits their geopolitical interests. Remember Iraq and WMDs? The story change later, abi? Wetin later happen? Plenty lives lost, countries destabilized, and 'oops, our bad'. So when I hear chemical weapons and US sanctions, my mind no dey quick jump to 'ah, na true true'. My mind dey ask, wetin be the real motive behind this one?
Some questions we need to ask ourselves:
- Who benefits? When a country like Sudan is further destabilized by sanctions, who are the real winners and losers?
- Evidence, abeg! Where are the irrefutable proofs? Not just 'intelligence reports' from sources we can't verify.
- Consistency? America dey sanction Sudan, but wetin about other countries wey get human rights issues or alleged use of banned weapons? Or na selective justice?
This kind of situation always makes me think about how African nations are often pawns in global power games. We no fit just swallow everything dem tell us hook, line, and sinker. We need to look beyond the headlines and ask the deeper questions. Are these sanctions truly for the good of the Sudanese people, or is it another strategic move to control resources, influence political outcomes, or push for a preferred regime?
I dey tell una, we Africans need to wake up! We need to start building our own independent analysis, our own intelligence. Because if we keep relying on the 'wisdom' of others, especially those with vested interests, e be like say we don carry our destiny throway for gutter. Make una share una thoughts. Wetin una dey really think about this matter?
