EkitiDecides2026 has come and gone, and the results are out. Mr Oyebanji has emerged victorious, defeating 13 other candidates in the off-cycle governorship election.
As reported by Premium Times Nigeria, Oyebanji delivered a victory speech, extending hands of fellowship to his opponents, Oluyede and Bejide. This is a good move, if you ask me, as it shows he is ready to work with everyone, regardless of their political affiliations.
The question on my mind, though, is: what does this mean for the people of Ekiti? Will Oyebanji's victory bring about the desired change, or will it be business as usual?
As the saying goes, when you shake a tree, you must be prepared for the fallout. Oyebanji has shaken the tree, and now he must be prepared to deal with the consequences of his actions.
Here are a few things I think Oyebanji should prioritize:
- Improving the economy
- Investing in education and healthcare
- Creating jobs for the youth
If he can deliver on these promises, then maybe, just maybe, his victory will be a blessing in disguise for the people of Ekiti.
What are your thoughts, guys? Do you think Oyebanji has what it takes to bring about positive change in Ekiti?
