So ValueJet finally took off with their Lagos-Accra flights this March 30th, expanding their West Africa network. They talk big about seamless connectivity and boosting trade between Nigeria and Ghana, which sounds good on paper for regional travel. But we need to ask, is this truly about better service and affordable flights, or just adding more traffic to an already busy route where 26 other airlines dey operate? We need to watch their pricing and service delivery closely, because these airlines too, they must be accountable to the people who pay for their tickets. Don't let them tell us one thing and do another; we keep our eyes open.
